  Jill

I’ve been at Kindy Cottage since 8 October 2007 and really appreciate the small family atmosphere. I come from a creative background and have a passion for art – children’s included.  I strive to provide a challenging programme including all sorts of different artistic mediums and help children to problem solve along the way. I am a fully registered ECE teacher.

I feel privileged to have met so many interesting and aspiring people whilst doing my training through the Playcentre Association.  I enjoy socialising, eating out at every opportunity and playing Bridge. I am a passionate kiwi that has strong family values and live with my husband. I am very proud of my two daughters, who are very creative, individual and independent young women.

Cindy
I was born in Taiwan and have been living in New Zealand for more than 14 years. I graduated from the University of Auckland in 2004, with a double major in Education and Linguistics. During my university years I taught children the piano and worked as a nanny. After graduation I spent a year relieving in an Early Childhood Centre and I decided to return to university in 2007 to get my Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education.

I've been working in this cosy family friendly centre for 5 years. Working with young children is a very fulfilling career for me, they make me laugh and smile! I enjoy creating music, playing with my key board and singing with them. I believe that music stimulates children's ability to be creative and imaginative and brings a state of harmony in their minds.

Kimi

I have been working at Kindy Cottage since 2007. Since then I have had two children, both of whom are currently attending the centre. I gained my Bachelor of Education from AUT in 2003. I have worked in both New Zealand and Japan as an Early Childhood Teacher. I believe NZ has a great way of respecting children as unique individuals and has a relaxed and flexible environment for children.

I enjoy camping, bush walking and caving with my family. I also love sewing and knitting at home.

Lynette
I have a Dip Tch ECE and have been teaching for 23 years with the last 4 years at Kindy Cottage. My passions in early childhood education are books, art (mixed media, drawing and painting) and learning through play.

My interests outside work are photography, reading, card making and cooking

Taryn

I joined Kindy Cottage in March 2012 and I am the Head Teacher in the Under 2's area. I love the small, homely atmoshpere of the centre and the fantastic group of teachers I have the privilege of working with. I have over 10 years experience in the early childhood sector and love the variety that the role presents. I completed my training at the New Zealand Tertiary Collage gaining my Diploma in Teaching Early Childhood in 2004 and my full teacher registration in 2007. My passion is being creative and I enjoy gardening, scrapbooking and at the moment I am learning to sew.

I live on the Hibiscus Coast with my wonderful husband and two beautiful children. I enjoy spending time at the beach, with friends and family and relaxing with a good book.

Janelle
I am in my last year of study towards a degree in Early Childhood teaching. I am married and have two beautiful boys, one attends school and my little one attends the centre. I have been at Kindy Cottage since 2006. I believe that children learn through many different types of play experiences and by exploring their environment. Through teachers knowing a child's interests and abilities they can expand the child's learning and development and provide many opportunities for them to express themselves.
